Hydropower plant Zvornik breaks records in production

Hydropower plant Zvornik set a new daily record in the production of electricity with 2.84 million kWh produced on January 11, thanks to revitalized generators. The increase in green energy production and better utilization of inflows on the Drina River was made possible by EPS’s investment, which completely revitalized all four generators with an increase power in a total of 30 megawatts for another 40 years.

Hydropower plant Zvornik breaks records in production, producing more energy than ever before. The revitalization of the hydro power plant started five years ago and now HPP Zvornik producing more than any other time in its history. New, modern electrical and mechanical equipment has been installed during the last five years in the oldest hydro power plant on the Drina. With revitalization finished, Elektroprivreda Srbije, i.e. the investor, got a power plant with a capacity increased by 25%.

This complex and encompassing project was a professional challenge for us. Within this capital project, our scope of works was: basic, detail, as-built design. Also, consulting services in the domain of rehabilitation of four generators and 110 kV substation, installation of electrical and mechanical parts of the works.  We made consulting services throughout project following applicable local laws, rules, and regulations in Energy and Construction part.

It is important to point out that the entire project was performed following “FIDIC Yellow Book” conditions and procedures. We are very proud to be a part of the project in creating the most modern hydro power plant in Serbia and the region, whose work brings fantastic results. The revitalized Hydropower Plant in Zvornik breaks production records every year, to live up expectations of its owners.
