Located 25 kilometers north of the city of Zaječar, the Solarina Solar Power Plant stands as one of the largest photovoltaic projects currently completed in Serbia. Spanning an area of 250 hectares, the power plant reaches an installed capacity of 150 MWac and produces around 290 GWh of green electricity annually. This project represents an important contribution to the country’s ongoing transition toward renewable energy and cleaner air.

IEE was entrusted with the revision of the conceptual design and the development of the design for the construction permit, ensuring the technical coherence of all systems and compliance with national and international engineering standards. Through close cooperation with the investor, CWP, the project was optimized to achieve maximum efficiency and long-term operational reliability of the entire facility.

The electricity generated by the Solarina power plant will result in an annual reduction of approximately 201,500 tons of CO₂ emissions, significantly improving Serbia’s environmental balance and energy independence. As one of the largest completed solar projects in the country, Solarina demonstrates how innovation, expertise, and collaboration can drive meaningful progress toward a sustainable future.
